Ensuring Communities and Citizens Are Protected Through Awareness, Monitoring, and Preparedness.
Ghana is taking bold steps toward becoming energy sufficient and independent, and nuclear power is set to play an important role in the country’s energy mix. We recognise the immense benefits this brings, from meeting growing energy demands to supporting industrial and economic development. At the same time, we are mindful of the safety and security risks that come with introducing nuclear technology, particularly for citizens and communities near proposed nuclear power plant sites.
Against this backdrop, CISAB has taken the lead as the first non-governmental organisation in Ghana dedicated to raising awareness about nuclear safety. Our work focuses on educating the public about the potential risks and the precautions necessary to ensure the well-being of communities surrounding nuclear facilities.
Through public education, community engagement and partnerships with relevant stakeholders, we aim to empower individuals and local communities with the knowledge they need to stay safe. CISAB is committed to making sure that Ghana’s pursuit of energy independence goes hand in hand with the protection and security of its people.
